DAVID BROUWER: USPTA and PTR professional from Grand Rapids. He is the three time USPTA Michigan Professional of the Year. David is the director of tennisfor Saint Mary's Health Management Company where he oversees the tennis program at three facilities with 20 indoor and 24 outdoor courts. David has been a featured speaker at our workshop, USPTA Midwest and National Conventions as well as at the USTA National Tennis Teacher's Conference in New York. Brouwer is a member of the National Head Advisory Staff, Cardio Tennis National Clinician and is being sponsored by Head/Penn at this workshop.
WAYNE BRYAN: Founded and ran the Cabrillo Racquet Club with numerous nationally ranked players and youngsters being awarded Division I tennis scholarships. Bryan wasthe number one player and captain of his U.C. Santa Barbara Tennis Team in the late 60s. Wayne is one of the top national clinicians in the country who is known for his ability to entertain, motivate and educate. Wayne does interviews, team clinics, television commentary and other emcee work for the Tour and the Outback Series. Bryan's twin sons, Mike and Bob are currently the number one ranked doubles team in the world. Bryan's appearance is provided by Prince.
JON FISCHER: Jon is a USPTA Master Professional and former director of tennis at Travis Pointe Country Club in Ann Arbor. John as worked with countless nationally recognized juniors over the years and is recognized as one of the top junior coaches in the country.
GEOFF GLUCK: Geoff has spent his career as an educator, mentor, coach, motivator and friend to a group that presentssignificant challenges-adolescents and their parents. He is an active member of the USPTA and the Illinois High School Tennis Coaches Association. Geoff was the Head Coach of the Deerfield High School Girls' Team for 33 years. He is a member of the IHSTCA Hall of Fame.
LUKE JENSEN: Is a former professional tennis player who attended East Grand Rapids High School, winning the Michigan state singles championship in 1983. He attended University of Southern California from 1986-87 and earned singles All American honors both years (doubles in 87). He is now the head coach of the women's team at Syracuse
University. Nicknamed "Dual Hand Luke" because he was an ambidextrous player able to serve at 120 mph with either hand. He now does on-court analysis for ESPN for their tennis coverage. He travels the world as an instructor,motivational speaker and ambassador for the game. We are thrilled to have Luke return "home" for our workshop! His appearance is provided by Wilson.
MICHELLE KRAUSE: As National Cardio Tennis Program Manager and Speakers Team Director for Cardio Tennis, Michelle is a founding member and lead organizer of the Cardio Tennis curriculum, a fun, action packed program that combines cardiovascular fitness training with tennis technique. Created by the Tennis Industry Association and the USTA, cardio tennis launched into the U. S. market in 2005. Michelle is the Director of Tennis at the Punta Gorda Tennis & Fitness Club in Florida and is a graduate and former player at Arizona State University. Her
appearance is provided by the TIA.
GINA MAZZOLINI: MHSAA Assistant DirectorGene Orlando: Now in his 21st year at the helm of the Michigan State men's tennis program, Orlando looks to continue the legacy of strength and excellence that happens both on the court and in the classroom. All four of MSU's NCAA Championship singles qualifiers have played under Gene, along with two sets of doubles pairings. He came to MSU from Bowling Green where he spent three seasons guiding the Falcons. He played collegiate tennis at Ball State University where he won conference titles his junior and senior seasons. He was ranked as high as 21st nationally in doubles.
BUTCH STAPLES: Over the past five years, Butch has managed a team of 36 teaching professionals and the largest adult and junior programs in the country as the head tennis professional at Midtown Tennis Club in Chicago. Butch is a USPTA Professional with a specialist in Competitive Player Development, a PTR Master Professional and a Tennis Canada Certified Level 3 Coach. He was named the 2006 and 2009 USTA Recreation Trainer of the Year. Staples's appearance is provided by the USTA.
GUNDARS TILMANIS: Til is an internationally recognized tennis coach, author and lecturer. He is generally regarded as one of the top teaching clinicians in the world today. Known for his quick wit and extensive teaching background, he is a clinician for both the United States Tennis Associationand the International Tennis Federation. During the past seven years, he has lectured in the U.S., Japan, Guatemala, Spain, Paraguay, Argentina, Canada and Australia. His innovative, energetic style of coaching has drawn praise throughout the tennis world. Til coaches tennis at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon.
